The Revithoussa LNG Terminal is the only terminal in Greece that receives LNG cargoes, temporarily stores & regasifies LNG and supplies the National Natural Gas Transmission System.
With a storage capacity of 225,000 m3 LNG and a regasification capacity of 1250 m3/h as a Sustained Maximum Send out Rate, the Terminal is an important energy asset for Greece, providing security of energy supply, operational flexibility in the transmission system and increased capability to meet peak gas demand.
Revithoussa has an excellent safety record since its commissioning in 2000. Designed and operated in accordance with the strictest safety standards both for its employees and for the residents of the surrounding areas, the terminal uses the most environmental friendly technology. The highest safety standards and its respect for the environment are constantly verified and certified by independent operators.
Small Scale LNG (ssLNG) facilities:
- A truck loading stationis currently under construction and once operating on Dec 2021, it will supply areas where the transmission system has not yet been developed. Due to the proximity of Revithoussa at Piraeus port, the station will also enable the provision of LNG bunkering services to the core port of Greece. The station will have one loading bay with a capacity of 50 m3 and loading flow of 100 m3/h. Τhere is a provision for a future second bay.
- A ssLNG jettywill be delivered to the system on Sep 2022. The jetty will have one birthing position and will be able to accommodate bunker and feeder vessels from 1,000 m3 to 28,000 m3.
Designs of the truck loading station and the ssLNG jetty have been executed within the framework of PMII and co- funded by the Connecting Europe Facility of the European Union.
