Benefits:

Under the scope of POSEIDON MED II, various types of vessels which trade in the geographic area under consideration will be studied. The in-depth studies, which will assess the technical, engineering and financial aspects of the feasibility of the project, will cover all necessary parameters for the adoption of LNG as marine fuel and will lead to the planning of a thorough and comprehensive road map for LNG bunkering. The evaluation will include operational matters at the ports as well as look into the critical factors at the shipyards.

At the completion of the Action, all aspects of the viability either of the conversion project of the introduction of LNG fuel in a new built will have been examined preparing for the introduction of LNG marine fuel and an effective small scale LNG network in the region of the Eastern Mediterranean.
